Forum Homini project – boutique hotel and conference centre –
Cradle of Humankind, South Africa
The project is a lifelong vision and the brainchild of Hendrik Marais who wanted to, "..make the dramatic story of the evolution of man accessible, interesting and fun.”
“I call it modern cave painting. It tells a story of a purple hominid that stands out and is so different from the rest. I have built so many things into this wall painting, from half discovered hominid creatures to the first signs of communication with wise hominids to modern human standing on his own shadow and past.” - Paul du Toit
Paul also created a painting that is displayed in the lounge, continuing the story of the evolution of the hominids
The artwork – A wall mural of about 10m x 4m, tells the story of evolution, interpreted and grown from the hominids found in the area.
